Let me greet you in the name of every Sződliget-villagers at our homepage.
Sződliget lies on the left side of the Danube River, scarcely 30 kms far form the capital, to the north, between Göd and Vác. Thus in the close neighbourhood of ten-thousand-cities, but in a safe isolation: Sződliget means the peaceful island for inlands and visitors, in spite of these noisy cities. Beside its receptive character, the village preserved the idyllic life of the former holiday-resort and the three Christian churches. People still greet first and hospitality is still a living notion in our village.
Sződliget is really a grove - fresh air, cared gardens, huge green landscape area and a nice riverside of the Danube welcomes the people wishing to relax. Sződliget offers not just peace and a nice surrounding, but also cultural and family-programmes (Free University Sződliget, Advent Multitude, Searching for Easter-eggs on the Danube-riverside, Amateur Football Competition, Civil Picnic, OldTimerCar Tryst, etc.) which are worth visiting, also from distant parts of the country.
I encourage you not just to read about us on the internet since Sződliget is one of the most propitious lying settlements, considering its traffic: the first railway-line of the country, the main road Nr. 2 and the freeway Nr. 2A also run beside the confines of the village.
Let yourself feel the atmosphere of Sződliget, while wandering about the streets and talking with us, so that you can find by us a piece of home inside of Hungary.
